Busy Busy October
We enjoyed our full schedule in October! It was so fun visiting with those we know and greeting new friends.
We enjoyed the inaugural (and hopefully) annual Crunchy Culture Fest at the Honey House in Vernon Hills. I had no idea the Honey House existed and I drive by it all the time. It’s right there on Milwaukee Rd just south of all the shopping at Rt 60. Look for the yellow mailbox.

Then we provided mini heart rate variability (HRV) biofeedback sessions at the TFI Physical Therapy Wellness Workshop. They have a beautiful space with physical trainers for all and personal trainers. We also tasted some goodies from Crisp & Green – which I have now visited multiple times (must try the ube berry bowl), and El Molcajete Sauces. I’m not a fan of spicy, and these sauces are flavor packed without crazy heat.
Somewhere in there we also had a table at the Deerfield Bannockburn Riverwoods Healthy Lifestyle Expo which was fun for all ages with the many vendors and activities – and we donated at the onsite blood drive. If you missed it this year, I recommend attending next year. Well worth the time.

And as we headed into Halloween, Crunchy Culture organized a joint Holistic Halloween Bash with two of our Spoerlein neighbors – Therapy District and Therapy Etcetera in providing spaces for activities for kids that did not include candy or sweets. We did crafts, made bath bombs with Artisan Stop, and thoroughly enjoyed the costume contest and playing around in the movement room at Therapy Etcetera.
And to top it all off – there was Trunk or Treat that benefitted the Deerfield Park Foundation. Once again – Play-Doh was the rage, but also quite a bit of Glow-In-The-Dark spooky temporary tattoos too. Yes, we also gave out candy – but it was the good stuff from Yum Earth.

There you have it. That’s a wrap on October.
